While doing a study regarding WPForms vis-a-vis its competitors, we came across Datanyze, which according to an expert at Quora, ‘specializes in Technology Tracking, in which you can build lead lists for prospects that use specific technology tools like CRM’s or Analytics tools.’
As confirmed by another expert on Quora in a different thread, ‘if you are searching for technology data then ZoomInfo or Datanyze will be the right place to knock.’
Since we are ourselves using the Elite plan (solution for developers and agencies) of WPForms, we thought of tracking WPForms through Datanyze.
We were surprised to find that WPForms surpasses Google Forms in terms of current websites using them. Remember Google Forms is by search engine giant Google that employs some of the world’s most talented software engineers. While WPForms is meant only for WordPress websites, Google Forms has no such limitation.
Together with the overall trend, also important is the recent trend that helps predict the future with the current rate of expansion in which again WPForms surpasses Google Forms.
Continuing with the topic of our previous article Making sense of software applications for form management needs with competing Gravity Forms and WPForms and complementary PickFu and SurveyMonkey, we thought it would be interesting to run the study WPForms vs. Gravity Forms. As noted in that article that Gravity Forms has been around longer (since 2009), this is somewhat corroborated with Gravity Forms as per Datanyze leading with #1 category position and 37.4% market share as on April 14, 2019.
For predicting the future, the current rate of growth or popularity is important and WPForms (started 2016) here leads against Gravity Forms (started 2009) by more than the double (after taking into account the number of websites dropped, 7432 net new websites added WPForms against 3713 of Gravity Forms for the month of March 2019).
